Though now-days we run a successful Garage Organising business, we will never forget our roots of fine furniture design and manufacturing.
The smell of freshly planed timber embedded in your cloths like camp-fire smoke can remain with you for ever; the sense of accomplishment you get from taking a rough-sawn board and shaping and manipulating it into a work of art that can be sold for your living or just admired by your family & friends as a testament of your life here on earth is priceless.

Ok it’s all, a, a bit new yet, but I intend to, use the bench and attached vices to do small wood carving jobs and to cut dress and glue timber for the jewellery boxes I make.
The configuration of the bench allows me the freedom to, sit or stand, depending on the job. i also use the flat, even surface to make drawings and designs for my carving and boxes.
Thanks
Trevor

I love this bench, The beech wood looks great.
Because it’s solid wood it’s super sturdy which is great, especially when planning, and it has pretty good storage as well.
Cheers
James

We just wanted to say a big thank you to you and the team at The Garage Organisers for an excellent workbench.
The product is simple to put together and your short assembly video an excellent idea. Your attention to ensuring delivery as we requested was exemplary. We cannot thank you enough.
Please see attached my husband with the finished workbench. We now have plenty of jobs for Robert to get underway.
Kind regards,
Robert and Ann
COFFS HARBOUR

My Traditional Woodworking Workbench from The Garage Organisers allows me to spend less time mucking around trying to find some space to work, and more time getting on the tools.
The two vices attached require very little force to get a good hold, and the bench dogs are a great touch. No need to clamp a piece of wood to the bench – just throw a bench dog in and close the end clamp.
The tool well at the back of the bench catches any stray screws and pencils, and I have found it’s a great place for things that don’t quite have a home on my tool wall yet.
Unlike the rest of my home workshop, which is a complete mess, my workbench is so nice that it encourages me to try to stay neat and have a good workspace.
Kind regards,
Simon Davies
I finally have a completed work shed, the workbench is installed and the first project, steam punk stool, completed.
As you requested some time ago, here is a picture of the bench in place along with the completed stool.
Many regards
Roger January 2020

Woodworking Bench Manufacture
So we spent two years searching the globe for a Bench manufacture that could constantly produce, good-looking, solidly built Woodworking Benches that only use high quality, stable timber and quality vice materials.
Well, that was a long, gruelling two years, and we went through many red-herrings getting to the place we are at now. As quality builders and cabinet manufactures, it’s hard to just sign our name off on any old product that we might be able to make a bit of money off.
We won’t do that, ever!

For the past 12 years we have been over the moon, and our clients too, with our Workbench products, though we have to buy in bulk to keep our prices down, we have been thrilled that so many people have now got one of these heirloom pieces that they and their families are using right now, and will be passing down generation to generation.

Timber Workbench History
The foundational concept of the modern workbench boasts ancient origins, with its lineage proudly tracing back to the Roman Empire. From these early workshops during the era of Nero, the essential design philosophy for this tool caught fire, spreading to influence artisans on every continent. This time-honoured tradition firmly establishes the workbench’s role as the undisputed cornerstone of productive and precise craftsmanship worldwide.
Many highly advanced woodworkers today consider undertaking the significant project of building their own custom workbench from scratch. Constructing a truly modern workbench, complete with integrated vises and other precision hardware, is an incredibly demanding and lengthy endeavour. There is a substantial cost for the premium solid timber and specialised components required to ensure they operate smoothly and perform exceptionally well.
You can expect to make a significant financial investment for a high-quality solid timber workbench built by a skilled professional woodworker.

Throughout out the centuries a Workbench has been giving many names by the trades that happen to be using that particular bench at the time
We have Carpenters Workbenches, where teams of carpenters would bring a portable workbench into the homes they we working in
We have Cabinetmakers workbenches, where Cabinet shops would donate each cabinetmaker a workbench and space to preform their daily duties and their benches below would be filled with tool drawers
We have Shipwrights Workbenches, where ship building factories would have Wood Working benches for all the ship- wrights to perform their perfectionist tasks at
We have the Traditional Woodworking Workbenches where there is no drawers or doors below the top but will still have a vice or two attached to the workbench to hold work pieces
There are many Styles of workbenches including the Nicholson Workbench (sometimes referred to as the English workbench), Moravian, Scandinavian or European) and Roubo (French) workbenches, which all are made of solid timber and help hold and perform certain tasks that the bench was designed for.

Timber Workbenches
Are made out of German sourced, kiln dried, Beech Hardwood, known the world over for centuries for its stability and strength.
Are made out of Solid Beech Timber, designed to take your workload and be portable but not be so heavy that you need 4 strong men to lift it somewhere else. The only areas of the Workbenches that are not solid are the tool wells and any cabinetry below, which is made from beech plywood to assure the stability in each workbench from twisting or splitting away from joins
Most all of our benches have a front and side tail vice, dogs and dog holes and also a deep tool well
All of our benches come with a sealer coat on them to protect the wood, we recommend using bee’s wax with 00 steel wool to smooth the sealer finish and give the bench a fine finish to it
All of our timber workbenches come protected in cardboard boxes and can be delivered Australia wide
All of our benches come with warranty against manufacturing or material defaults that hinder the proper operation of the timber benches. We are not responsible for goods damaged in transport unless you have opted for our delivery insurance at the time of purchasing the bench

Workbench Vices
Workbench Vices
Front vices
Tail vices
Tail Vices have dog holes bored into them, enabling you to trap a piece between the tail vice dogs and somewhere along the benches other dog holes, this allows you to have free hands to carve, plane, router, sand and all the rest you might do.
Workbench Front Vices
Workbench Front Vices give you quick hands-free access to the work piece that you are working on allowing you to concentrate on the task at your hands and not on supporting the piece from damage to it, or your hands.
Workbench Tool wells
Workbench Tool wells
Timber Workbenches tool well-built in
Timber Workbenches tool well-built in
We have added tool wells to all of our Workbenches because they are handy, very handy, it can hold all your smaller detail, hand tools like chisels, tapes, squares, planes, pencils, you name it, if it fits in, it will hold it safely within reach on the Bench you are working on.
These tool wells we build into all our benches will most likely be the only non-solid timber parts of the whole Workbench. Because of the complexity of adding these tool wells to the benches, we prefer to use German Beech plywood, as it is a totally stable product that will not contradict with the movement of the Solid Timbers that the bench is built out of.
We want our tool wells to look great, work better and never give any problems when in places that have high humidity swings or big temperature differences. So if that’s where you live, we got you covered.
Workbench Dogs and Dog-Holes
Workbench Dogs and Dog-Holes
Beside the vise-grip holding power of our Front and Tail Vices, the Dog and Dog Hole clamping devices give you more opportunity to grip down your Woodworking projects that need to be secured flatly for your steady hand to perform accurately.
Over the years we have halved the number of Dog Holes in our bench designs, mainly because we have no idea what application the Workbench will be used for because each Bench owner will want their bench set up to suit their style of Woodworking, instead of us sending out benches that look like a piece of Swiss cheese with holes going every which way. We leave it to the new owners to drill out and place the Dog Holes to suit.
Timber Workbenches base construction
Timber Workbenches base construction
Over the past couple years we have been changing our Workbench bases from bolt together to the much preferred, by us and our customers feedback, to our newly designed mortise and tusked tenon joinery.
The main reason is we don’t want our clients heads stuck in a book of instructions, we would rather have them unpacking the bench and just putting it together straight out of the box.
So our new Professional and Standard Workbenches are both equipped with two, mortised, double legged end piece’s, two, mortised, stretcher boards and four tenon tusks for the stretcher boards easy assembly.
